Political, Legal, and Economic Philosophy (PLEP)
The Master's Program in Political, Legal, and Economic Philosophy (PLEP) brings together students with backgrounds in Political Science, Law, Economics, and Philosophy to fundamentally explore topics in all of these areas from a philosophical perspective.

Be a part of the PLEP Community!
PLEP students come from around the world. As part of the PLEP you are invited to participate in various activities, such as beginning and end of semester parties, outings to the city, movie nights, and more.
Special Courses and Events
The PLEP organizes a number of specialized events. Our PLEP Talk series invites an esteemed professor from abroad each semester for a lecture. Our PLEP Podium series brings philosophy to the public, inviting both academic and political speakers to discuss current issues. We also organize summer schools together with the University of Bochum in Germany and University of Graz in Austria, as well as compact courses, which are conducted in Bern every fall by renowned professors from abroad.
Career Prospects
PLEP students are well suited careers in government, non-profits, journalism, and more. Many students also chose to continue on to a PhD program. The PLEP program prepares students to be independent thinkers as well as highly skilled writers who are attentive to details in arguments and structured political debate.
